Malaika Rivers
Founder & President
Malaika Rivers is the Founder & President of Pontem Resources, where she partners with changemakers—from CEOs to city mayors—to design cost-sharing real estate strategies that bring developments both big and small to life.
Her clients include professional sports teams, commercial centers, and local governments. Notable projects include Centennial Yards, Miami Freedom Park, and Trilith. These projects build on her experience with The Battery Atlanta, the mixed-use development for the Atlanta Braves, which is widely regarded as the benchmark for sports-anchored real estate.
With three decades of structuring public-private partnerships, Malaika's approach is both strategic and tactical, bridging developers' economics and government processes. Through special taxing districts, government grants, and other tools, she helps clients tap into public financing for key infrastructure. She is especially known for her expertise in Business and Community Improvement Districts (BIDs and CIDs), helping clients structure these place-based management organizations to maintain vibrant commercial areas.
Malaika has been recognized in SBJ's Power Player/Next Up, 100 Influential Women to Know, Georgia 500, and 25 Power Women to Watch. She received her B.S. from Virginia Tech and her C.M.E. from Harvard Business School.
